Dubai-UAE: 11 March, 2017 – Awqafand Minors Affairs Foundation (AMAF) hosted a ceremony to honor 371 outstanding achievers students underits care. Held at Armani Hotel in Dubai, the event drew the participation of HisExcellency Dr. Thani Ahmed Al Zeyoudi Minister of Climate Change andEnvironment, and His Excellency Dr Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Statefor Higher Education and Ahmed Abdul Karim Mohammed Julfar as Director Generalof the Dubai Community Development Authority (CDA).
Representing AMAF at the specialceremony were His Excellency Tayeb Al-Rais, Secretary General, and other seniorofficials as well as members of AMAF management team as well as businessmen andpersonalities associated with the charity field also attended the event.
During the ceremony, thestudents took an oath to continue their journey of excellence in their academicand upcoming professional life to serve their nation and contribute to itsdevelopment.
Speaking at the ceremony, HisExcellency Tayeb Al-Rais said: “As our wise leadership has repeatedlyemphasized, education is a vital pillar of development. The founding father ofthe UAE, late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, established schools anduniversities so that citizens of this country could obtain the necessaryknowledge to contribute to its success.”
He added: “His HighnessSheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of theUAE and Ruler of Dubai, has also reiterated the importance of developing our humancapital, and said that building nations is not complete without building their citizens.”
Speaking on AMAF’s role ineducating minors, His Excellency Tayeb Al-Rais said: “As part of our mandate toempower the children under our care until they graduate from university, Awqafand Minors Affairs Foundation spares no effort in providing a stimulatingenvironment and all the necessary tools to enable them to make the most of theireducation. Our initiative honoring outstanding students aligns with the UAE’s relentlessdrive towards excellence in education.”
In line with the UAE’s Yearof Giving, the ceremony reflected AMAF’s firm commitment to charity and philanthropy.Through rewarding academic achievements, the Foundation expressed itsappreciation for the vital role schools play in the country’s progress and in educatinggenerations that realize the importance of giving for achieving globalstability and security.
